President-elect Donald Trump is expected to be deposed this week in the restaurant lawsuit he filed against José Andrés for backing out of a deal to open a restaurant in his Washington, D.C. hotel.
This is one of two lawsuits the president-elect is involved in related to restaurants he planned for the hotel, which opened late last year. Mr. Trumps lawyers tried in December to have the deposition in the breach-of-contract lawsuit delayed, but the judge said it must take place this week.
Trump Tower in New York is the likely venue for the deposition, according to one of Mr. Trumps attorneys.
In the other case, which is similar, at a hearing Tuesday in D.C. Superior Court, lawyers for Mr. Trump told a judge they have not been able to reach a settlement in the lawsuit over celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarians withdrawal from a restaurant he, too, had agreed to open at the same hotel.

Both Zakarian and Andrés pulled out of their separate deals with Mr. Trump came shortly after he made his controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants. He referred to them as people bringing drugs,...bringing crime. Theyre rapists, during his June 2015 presidential announcement.
First of all, the first sentence of the above paragraph is grammatically incorrect. Either the word "came" needs to be removed OR the word "News" needs to start the sentence.
Absolute deliberate dishonesty, CBS. They used the term "Mexican immigrants" as though Trump was referencing all Mexican immigrants. Trump was referring to illegal immigrants that come across the Mexican border, and he didn't say all illegal immigrants. It is an absolute fact that some illegal immigrants from Mexico or who come across the Mexican border do commit rape in this country.
It is fake news like this that causes misconceptions about Trump, fear, and protests. Disgraceful, CBS.
I was a career counselor most of my life. Chefs, even good ones, are a dime a dozen and can be had for a song.
Well, no wonder the fruit Zakarian pulled out since restaurants are probably the largest employers of illegal aliens in the country. Except for Asian restaurants, practically every kitchen here in Calif are staffed by illegals top to bottom and if you don’t speak Spanish just forget about getting a job in one. And I’m talking from high end restaurants all the way down to Denny’s.
And that really sucks because American citizens want and need those jobs.
“Except for Asian restaurants,”
They actually hire mostly illegals too. It’s just those illegals come from China
Yes I know that, I was talking about having to speak Spanish to get kitchen jobs these days.
You’re never going to get a job in an Asian kitchen unless you’re Asian and usually a member of the immediate family. You have to speak their lingo too.
Dang as a young man starting out dishwasher and fry cook were always my fall back jobs. There were always openings and you got to eat. But always looking for something better.
In Houston even the Asian restaurants have hispanics in the kitchen, you can hear the tejano radio bleeding into the dining room when the pantry door swings open.
And that really sucks because American citizens want and need those jobs.
On the one hand, excessively high minimum wages make hiring cost-prohibitive. On the other hand, illegals can be hired for low wages under the table, with the employer paying nothing on taxes and benefits. For an employer whose profit margin is razor thin, hiring illegals is very tempting. Add into the mix the fact that many CA cities are declaring themselves "sanctuary cities" and that CA politicians are hell bent on importing ever greater numbers of illegals, the number of unemployed Americans is only going to increase while the starter jobs all go to illegals.
Embrace the suck of a Trump lawsuit. :)
For some stupid reason I watch the CBS Evening News periodically. Scott Pelley and that program are the most biased, dishonest news broadcasters in the world, in my opinion. I think I watch them to see how they're going to spin the anti-Trump narrative today.
Zakarian and Andrés need to have a visit from ICE on Jan. 21.
Stop giving them the hit of your viewership, please. : )
They were rated as so as more negative than any other network and I think they were rated as more negative than the Washington Post and New York Times (not an easy feat right there considering both papers posted multiple articles comparing Trump to Hitler).
