Sens. Cruz, Heller, and Rubio Introduce Bill To Move U.S. Embassy To Jerusalem
Townhall.com ^ | January 3, 2016 | Christine Rousselle

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV), and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) have introduced the Jerusalem Embassy and Recognition Act, which would move the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, and therefore recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital city. Currently, the U.S. Embassy is located in Tel Aviv.

In a statement, Sen. Cruz said that it was "finally time" to move the embassy.

“Jerusalem is the eternal and undivided capital of Israel,” Sen. Cruz said. “Unfortunately, the Obama administration's vendetta against the Jewish state has been so vicious that to even utter this simple truth - let alone the reality that Jerusalem is the appropriate venue for the American embassy in Israel - is shocking in some circles. But it is finally time to cut through the double-speak and broken promises and do what Congress said we should do in 1995: formally move our embassy to the capital of our great ally Israel. I am pleased to co-sponsor this legislation with Senator Heller and Senator Rubio, and I look forward to working with the Trump administration to make this happen.”

In 1995, Congress passed “The Jerusalem Embassy and Relocation Act,” which was supposed to move the embassy to Jerusalem. More than 20 years later, this has not yet happened.

President-elect Donald Trump has stated that he thinks the embassy should be in Jerusalem.

Cruz endorsed Trump. Might want to do some research, Einstein.

I had my say, and it was 100% accurate. Read it again if you don’t quite get it.

Did Ted openly recognize that Hillary Clinton was a dire threat to this nation and do everything in his power to make sure she wasn’t elected?

NO! End of story for Ted.

Now he’s on the job though. What was this dip-stick’s pla if Trump failed to be elected?

He hasn’t been a team player to this point at all, but by golly the Ted disciples are here to defend him none the less.

Ted and his sad little group of NeverTrumpers are disgusting to the ultimate.

Where are McCain and Graham?

In a perfect world, somewhere from which they'd never be heard from again....

You really need to buy a clue.

This guy pulled the wool over all you folk’s head, and now you don’t see any reason why not to support his every move.

Ted Cruz IS NOT on your side. He is on Ted Cruz’ side.

When are you folks going to open your eyes and see him for what he is?

Sure, I’m furious at Ted. He couldn’t stand up like a man and help Trump get elected, but now when he thinks he can steal credit away from Trump, he offers up bills.

Where was this lush the last four years?

The establishment will recommend against it and chatter about why it’s a bad idea, but we should do it anyways. Jerusalem has been the Jewish capitol since the time of King David. We should recognize that fact on the ground. Among other things, it will produce less backlash now, with a “rookie” like President Trump, than it would later or with another president.

Ted never endorsed Trump.

He said he was going to vote for Trump/Pence.

Further, when Ted said he was going to vote for Trump months before the election, he spend a few minutes on the phones.

That was the last he was seen making any moves to support Trump until a week or so before the election.

At that time he went to three events, and refused to say the word “Trump” at the first one.

None the less, here you are trying to play it off as if he supported the Trump/Pence ticket.

That’s B.S. and you know it.

Ted did next to nothing, and only did what he did because he know folks like you would back his play.

I’d be ashamed to be known as a person that had any respect at all for the man that couldn’t see a reason to be all-in against Hillary Clinton.

Ted needs to find another line of work. Too many lies. Too many missed opportunities.

He’s politically Tead to me

Let me phone him tomorrow and let him know that one anonymous blogger out of 330 million people no longer supports him. He’ll be worried sick, I’m sure. Are you positive you won’t reconsider?

In 1995, Congress passed “The Jerusalem Embassy and Relocation Act,” which was supposed to move the embassy to Jerusalem. More than 20 years later, this has not yet happened. If there is already an act of Congress on the books to move the embassy, why do we need another one.

Funding for the move in the 1995 Act expired in 1999.

Let me tell you something, this is all about Ted rebuilding his image. He won’t be doing it on my watch.

When I see Ted do something, I’ll be figuratively jumping on his head with both feet.

He did not help try to defeat Clinton.

I will not stand by and watch him act as if he is a solid Conservative.

I may be the only one, but I’ll be here and I’ll stand up for what we both know is true.

You can over for him all you like. I won’t be joining you.

If I’m the only one of 330 million, I will be happy to do it.

He said he was going to vote for Trump/Pence.

And he campaigned for him. Probably for political reasons as far as staving off a primary challenge - Trump should probably appoint him to a district judge position. He'd probably be good at the job and it would get him out of the Senate...the confirmation would probably 99-0.

And it was still not appropriate to accuse his dad of being an accomplice to the murder of a President...and no, saying that is not appropriate has nothing to do with being "PC".

you didn't prove anything and I suggest you see a shrink stat that will help you to get over your Ted Cruz derangement symptom. You sure need one.

Those parrots in here that agree with you should join you in seeing a shrink also.

Good old Teddy Boy is going to do everything in his power to preempt Trump.

Trump has already signaled his intentions.

Cruz says he wants to "work with the Trump administration to make this happen".

I can tell you this....Cruz will never be POTUS.

I stayed away from that line of reasoning.

It is very strange that he was near Oswald, but that doesn’t mean jack. I agree.

After the convention Cruz said he’d vote for Trump/Pence. That is not an endorsement.

He spent a few minutes on the phones and months later attended three rallies for Trump/Pence. At the first one, he didn’t mention the name Trump once. He was really on fire for Trump wasn’t he.

Putting Trump aside, Cruz couldn’t tell that a Clinton term in office right after Obama would just about end this nation?

Where was he for months at a time, not saying anything positive about the Trump ticket, or for that matter negative about the Clinton ticket?

You are lost in space on this one.

After the convention Cruz said he’d vote for Trump/Pence, and spent a few minutes on the phones.

Months later he attended three rallies and didn’t mention the name Trump at the first one.

That was the extent of Ted’s efforts against Hillary Clinton.

Do you realize that?

You’re proud of Ted? Really?
