Gospel singer Kim Burrell referred to gays and lesbians as perverted.

She referred to specific homosexual acts as perverted.

Which is it, SF Gate? Did she refer to gays and lesbians as perverted or homosexual acts as perverted?

Stupid Fake News Media.

during that period vomitoriums were the common practice with the wealthy- Paul even chastised the church for doing the same practice

The bible does actually address the topic of gluttony and overeating and overdriven to excess and vomitting

Is 28:8 8 No room is left at their tables for aught but filth and vomit.

Even in the link you gave it included reference to getting sick from eating so much

Ben Sira 37:30 For sickness comes with overeating, and gluttony brings on nausea.

Being simply overweight is not an indication of gluttony-

Gluttony and drunkenness is the sin talked of in the bible- it was a filthy practice that usually included drunkenness and vomiting either where the person sat or like the romans did in the bathrooms that were created just for vomiting after gouging so as to eat even more food afterwards-

Spontaneous vomiting from sickness/nausea, and intentionally induced vomiting in order to stuff in more food, are two different things.

it was a common practice of gluttons and drunkards to eat till sick- then eat some more- you can find historical reference to this disgusting cultural practice in that day-

The vomitoriums (special bathrooms made for the purpose of being sick) that the romans used were for people who had eaten so much that they couldn’t contain the food any longer- so no- these aren’t two separate issues we’re talking about here- You are introduction a conditional requirement in order to back up that that the ancient times didn’t have places where people could eat until nauseous, throw up so they could eat some more- people were eating so much they were throwing up where they sat- The verse sited nothing about people simply being sick for no reason, causing them to throw up -

Simple over eating, and becoming overweight is not the danger science once thought it was, and infact it actually protects people with heart conditions and diabetes between certain BMI measurements- it is an anomaly that was found over and over throughout the years- Morbid obesity on the other hand is a different story- The morbidly obese are the ones the bible is talking about as they lay around lazily and become so engrossed in food they become poor because they don’t’ work because they are too fat- The link you gave talked about that over and over again

Proverbs 25:16-17

Have you found honey? Eat only what you need, That you not have it in excess and vomit it.

“Vomiting, belching and spitting during meals were approved of in Roman manners.[83] Seneca the Younger said that Romans engaged in”eating till they vomited and of vomiting in order to eat more.”[84] Also translated as “The Romans vomit that they may eat, and eat that they may vomit.”[85]”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_and_dining_in_the_Roman_Empire

The bible was talking about eating to excess to the point where people did nothing but basically worship their belly- too lazy to work- going broke from eating so much- gluttonous drinking and eating to the point of vomiting

I doubt very highly Kim sits around eating so much that she gets to the point of throwing up- while she is heavy- she is not morbidly obese-

Yes... I think you are right. I suspect gluttony is perhaps more all-encompassing whereas sloth is more specific to laziness and the refusal to work. Perhaps the definition of each word has a slightly different focus that ultimately have the same outcome (and therefore mean something quite similar) i.e. with regards to this specific issue, sloth is the pursuit of being lazy (just because one doesn’t feel like working and would rather do nothing) while gluttony would be the pursuit of excessive amounts of relaxation under the guise of being entitled to it.

Utterly strictly speaking we might consider heterosexual relations, but outside the marriage relationship, to be a perversion of the Lord’s purpose, but it’s less easily visible.

There’s an entire love and honor framework that the Lord seeks to weave around a willing humanity — the keyword here being willing. If it is not willing, only the vestiges remain. It’ll decay in stages from there, the first stages being illicit heterosexuality, the next stages embracing what we have been calling perversions.

Bringing back this framework is utterly necessary before even heterosexuals have the perceived right to rebuke homosexuals (but also, after the rebuke, to advise them of a better viewpoint on life).

Perhaps, for this reason, Donald Trump is not ideally placed to be a bellwether unto recovery from homosexual mindsets. There is some reputation of scandal about his marriage habits, although perhaps they could be accommodated under what in evangelical circles is known as a “loose biblical view” of marital obligation. (If the partner went on to have relations with someone else, under that view this act would dissolve the obligation of the partner’s former spouse, and the goal here would not be a penitent celibacy, but to continue with further marital dedication from one’s current situation.) However, Mike Pence is better placed and his marital situation is not one that meets scandal from any sector of Christendom. We need to be patient with God as He works things together in His own plan and pace. The lampstands of the churches will come back, but not immediately to full brilliance.

This is true... all she’d need to do is get in one gospel zinger.

And why not on a Laugh-In? Is Jesus about grimness? Or about joy?

"...in order to back up that that the ancient times didn’t have [vomitoria]..."

I didn't say that.

I'm done with this discussion. Have a nice day.

A tape of Burrell preaching at the Love & Liberty Fellowship Church began circulating online. She said that "the perverted homosexual spirit, and the spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women." She referred to specific homosexual acts as perverted.

Further evidence that TRUTH is the new HATE SPEECH.

I think Kim Burrell should be invited to sing at Trump’s inauguration. Singing on the Ellen show would only have amounted to, “casting her pearls before the swine”.
