happy new year Pat.. yes, very sad story about MIL & the liberal idiot who dumped her...

and is always hurts to be rejected.. that is the heart and soul responding. Her mind already knows they had problems.. she was no doubt walking on egg shells MUCH TOO OFTEN...

I am working at hotel 15 hours today (fun, fun)... worked two jobs yesterday and was just too tired to drive to , attend, and drive back from party I intended to visit. so when I got home at 8, did some wine, catching up online and fell asleep early. sigh

Yeah.....I’m thinking man, 87 years old and having to deal with this. But she’s been okay with me being the mean girl over that guy. The guy really was a bit of a loser but softly I suggest my mother-in-law might also have some issues.

I’m jus’ sayin’.

And I still remember how to do it.

I want to tell an anecdote about my own self and first, I know most of you know this and second, I suppose I am preaching to the choir. Indulge me.

At some point in my life, between keypunching, doing payroll, being a quality control inspector, bookkeeping, you name it, I finally went off on my own.

I became a “consultant”, and/or an “independent contractor”, take your pick.

Man I put in many new payroll systems, in big hospitals and government contractors....but I also went on jobs and fixed up their systems, be they accounting or payroll or whatever.

Let me tell you rule number one the day I landed on a new assignment....DO NOT TELL ME HOW YOU DID IT BEFORE!!!

Heh.

I even, literally, covered my ears. One employee would pull down a container and tell me this is where they store invoices paid, another would show me a drawer where they put invoices still open. Over here in a cabinet was kept employee time cards....until finally I laid down the rules.

I do not want to know how you are currently doing it. I DO want to know what is the object of the task.

So paid invoices surely must be filed at some point. Open invoices are....well....open. Timecards are those things that track an employee’s time.

I don’t want to be sitting and pondering why on hell these people got their stuff every damn where and how to keep it that way.

My job was to sit and ponder how to properly pay employees, review open invoices....yada, yada.

And THIS, yon ladies and gems, is the problem with gubmint workers and the political establishment.

They WANT to keep things the same, always. Thus nothing ever changes, nothing ever gets more efficient.

DONALD TRUMP is that mover and shaker and hey, I used to watch The Apprentice and its Celebrity co-program religiously for all I learned about setting up a properly and efficiently running business.

Y’all just watch. Cause once I came in everything changed, but for the better.

Here’s the motto, repeat it silently all night....

GET RID OF ALL PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS AND START FROM SCRATCH.

Thank me very much.
