If they like the Venezuelan diet, they’ll love the North Korean diet!

Or what would have been the obama diet if HRC had been elected to continue his nightmare. Okay, maybe not this extreme, but it would have headed in that direction faster and faster.

This video is pure garbage. Venezuela is in very very bad shape but it lost me when it said that these bags would cost $250 To $500 American dollars. B.S. That much money in American dollars in Venezuela could buy you a cow a pig and several chickens.

I used to travel to Caracas in the early 90’s. There were many wonderful Italian restaurants and beautiful women of Italian descent.

You could by locally made arts and goods very cheaply.

This was pre-socialism.

I weep for their middle class.

Inflation is rampant, I think that they were trying to state that little bag of food would be equivalent in wages in Venezuela.

I worked in Venezuela for two years in the seventies. We had a thriving middle class and the stores were full of any food you wanted. Life was very good then. Corruption of government was also rampant much like in the United States today.

The people of Venezuela voted against corruption and for Chavez. Chaves did win his first election. He did not when the second nor did Maduro win the election after the death of Chavez. Those two elections were corrupt via the a dictatorial regime of Chavez and later Maduro.

Maduro remains in power at the point of a gun. The tragedy of Venezuela will be dictated by the point of guns.

I pray the good guys win, but I suspect a benevolent dictatorship will replace Maduro in the mold of Franco of Spain. I hope I am wrong but I am not.

Perhaps in ten years the dictatorship will be replaced with a democracy.

A word of caution about Venezuela, Her constitution was based on our constitution of the United States When Chaves assumed power he methodically destroyed that document as the progressive liberals are trying and succeeding in our great nation. He did this via his Supreme Court in Caracas. This could also happen in our great nation.

Venezuela does not have our second amendment. That amendment is the iron fist that opposes tyranny.

Well, true, if someone didn't rob and kill you first.

So very well said. We are horrified with what has happened in Venezuela and my family warily gazes East. They were subjected to persecution at the hands of FARC guerrillas. My wife, coming here to become a citizen as early as she legally could apply, has become a rabid conservative and watches activity down there to track what's happening.

Sadly, Colombia seems to have shifted away from Uribe's legacy and the current pResident seems determined to implement the spirit of the "plebecito" despite the will of thinking Colombians.

I believe they were saying that if the US went through hyperinflation the way Venezuela did then the bags would cost that amount.

Went on 3 mission trips there in the 2000’s doing sports evangelism.
Had the best restaurant steak ever at a place called the Cattleman's Club in Valencia.
In 07 you could see where the country was headed but no one thought it would get this bad.
Chavez's support was high among the urban poor we were working with but not among evangelical Christians, no matter how poor they were.
Say a prayer for the Church in Venezuela.

Maybe at the "official" exchange rate, which would be well off from the free market rate.

I live in reality. $250 to $500 U.S. dollars will buy a lot in Venezuela.
