Or an Israeli-Iranian war. Now would be a better time than a few years hence for Israel to have to defend against an Iranian attack, assuming Iran does not yet have deliverable nukes. Our carriers are out of the way for Iran to attack and cannot defeat Israel's defense. The US , for the next three weeks will NOT resupply the Israeli military so Israel, if it does not knock the Iranian AF and navy out in the first hours, will have to resort to nukes, and surely would.

The carriers being all out of action might just be the best thing with Hussein triggering a ME war. If Iran attacks Israel in the presence of American carriers, Hussein would send our AC and missiles against ISRAEL, not against the Iranians.
