Look, to be serious here for a minute, do I think Russia is our best buddy? No. Do I think it would be in our best interest to get along? Yes
There are a lot of problems in this world that can better be solved if we work on them together. As RR said, trust but verify
We have known for years Russia (USSR) spies on us, but FGS so do all our friends. It’s OUR responsibility to make sure they don’t get anything really important.
