The worst flight experiences I've had have been w/Delta.

I avoid them like the plague.

Orders taken does not equate to aircraft delivered.

” “best selling new commercial airliner in the history of airplanes”.”

Sorry, but that honor would go to the 737, not the 787.

The 737-900ERs are great planes, the newest variant of the 737, the best passenger aircraft ever built.

The 737-900ER is not the newest variant. The 737-MAX is the newest variant, with the newest engines for improved fuel savings.

Delta is buying the previous generation, part of the Next Generation series. Most likely because that's how long Delta's order has been on the books.

Oddly, Delta is also buying the A321ceo instead of the newer A321neo (new engine option) that also have the latest generation of engines for improved fuel usage.

Mostly.

I would love to see every American company jump on the Trump train! Prosperity really is just waiting for us to pick it up again.

American companies have been fed the line of crap for so long they believe it. Because it true. The government has broken our country by over regulation and driven the wealth producing machines out of the country and given the unions the paltry scraps in the bottom of the bowl to fight over.

Americans cant buy a decent light bulb or flush their toilets without governmental oversight.

When the President elect tells you the gravy train is coming to a halt, you better listen and adjust or you will will be left in the liberal dust pile on the platform as we pull away from the station.

Wow, compared to some options I have (Frontier, United), I love Delta.

My all time favorite is Southwest, but Delta comes in pretty close.

Delta was one of several companies that leaned on Gov. Deal to stop the Religious Liberties bill in Georgia last year.

Well, Delta is buying a large number of A321ceo’s because they need to retire their aging 757-200 fleet. Delta might be interested in buying the A321neoLR to replace the 757-200 on certain transaltantic flights.

depends on the timeframe you want to draw around “new”, but, irrespective of all of that, it’s a little odd to insist on calling an astonishingly hot selling airliner a “disaster”.

What’s the difference that you recommend one over the other? I know nothing about any of these airplanes to be honest.

orders taken is strongly correlated to deliveries and, ultimately, to success. I don't know why you have such a hard on for boeing, but it's just delusional to call this thing a "disaster".

You claiming the 787 is the most successful airplane is like the Nobel committee giving Zero the prize just for being elected.

Compared to United, Delta is the Ritz Carlton. I don't think I've ever disliked a company more than United. Maybe Comcast...

I'm with you on Southwest but I miss being able to upgrade. American and Delta share second. Delta has improved greatly over the past 7-8 years.

I HATE Airbus seats - they are designed for 5’ 8” metro-sexual males. 6 foot plus frames with wide shoulders just do not fit.

The list price for a 787-8 Dreamliner is $224.6 million, making the Delta order worth as much as $4 billion. Airlines typically get bulk discounts for large orders, however.

And they wanted to make up for the fiasco with a single AF One.....

I don’t think I said “most successful”. I said it was a hot seller. and then I simply said that there was a strong correlation between sales and success. but I suspect you already realize that, which is why you’re trying to turn the discussion into contest of dueling metaphors.

I’ll pass.

all I really did was dispute your insistence that this airplane that virtually every airline in the world is buying is a (using your exact word) “disaster”.

We just flew Delta (first class) a few weeks ago. It isn’t a real first class (smaller jet, about 70 passengers), but the leg room and price was perfect.

on time, my luggage was where it was supposed to be, etc. etc.

And I like American too, was going to mention them. Wonderful customer service.

United... never fly again, tell everyone I can to not fly them. The worst in customer service, and general service.
