Can Donald Trump persuade Americans to support his agenda? It’s not likely.

Public support is a key resource that modern presidents have typically sought for themselves and their policies. They seek to leverage public opinion to garner support in Congress.
New presidents, basking in the glow of victory, often assume that they can move the public. After all, they have just won the biggest prize in American politics because they persuaded enough voters to support their candidacy. Why shouldnt they be able to persuade Americans to support their policies?
Campaigning is different from governing, however. To win an election, a candidate need only convince voters in the short term that he or she is a better choice than the few available alternatives. In addition, someone always wins, whether or not voters support the victors policy positions.

Stupid article. People voted for him and elected him precisely because they support Trump's agenda to "Make America Great Again"

American citizens want the wall built and the laws enforced.
Many who did not vote for him want that, too.

Really egregious silliness here by some flack at WaPo; Americans have already proven they’re behind Trump and will happily sanction pretty much anything and everything he does.
Sorry - back to J School, Mr. Edwards.

With traitors like the ComPost taking shots like this all the time, his chances are slightly reduced, but, as far as I can tell, he's already winning -- even before he's POTUS!!
