First world problems: Trump and the [White House] Correspondents' Dinner [ed]
Washington Examiner ^ | December 22, 2016 | David Freddoso

The election of Donald Trump has a lot of people on edge. Many of them for good reasons. Beyond the sort of hackish concerns of partisans, people are genuinely worried about his conflicts of interest. Until a few minutes ago, it looked like his sons were going to be running the same kind of influence-peddling foundation as the one he spent the entire campaign criticizing Hillary Clinton for. They are worried also by his tendency to shoot from the hip, even on sensitive topics like nuclear weapons, without apparently considering the consequences or, often, even knowing much about the subject.

How once was a rather obscure event has turned into content for the 24/7 cable news channels with its own red carpet correspondents is a symbol of everything wrong with the so called 4th Estate and out Imperial but without the culture Capital. Trump should give the event the middle finger. It is now nicknamed the Nerd Prom which is an insult to real nerds like me. How many of those correspondents would be able to identify the Easter Eggs in Rogue 1????

He should go and have Mark Steyn, Jackie Mason or Dennis Miller to write him some good one-liners.

As part of the evening’s entertainment, they should play the clip from the 2011 dinner where Trump had to sit through the ridicule from Obama and the alleged comic, while the audience joined in the laughter. Trump sat there seething but then vowed to get his ultimate revenge. Heh

Nah.

He should just have them and Drudge to dinner.
Maybe with Diamond and Silk.
That would actually be the press dinner.

"The election of Donald Trump has a lot of people on edge"

Only traitorous leftists and fifth-column media low-lifes.

"He should go and have Mark Steyn, Jackie Mason or Dennis Miller to write him some good one-liners."

Or Kellyanne Conway, who responded to a mediaot on whether she as a mother of four has the time to be Counselor to the President, "I would say that I don’t play golf, and I don’t have a mistress. So I have a lot of time that a lot of these other men don’t."

He should just have them and Drudge to dinner.

At the white house, he should exclude ABCCBSNBCCNN, the compost and the NY slimes, permanently. Let in OANN, Breitbart, Fox, etc.

Trump proving he knows how to economize - living 24/7 in so many little heads - and all rent free......Priceless!

He should simply say ‘Hey, I’m dinner-partied out over the years. I have jobs to create. I’ll send somebody in my stead, maybe Kellyanne.’

This will probably go the way of “will he accept the results of the Election”. They state their concern about what Trump will do, and then when the date comes, it will be several of the press that doesn’t come.

He shouldn’t go to it. It’s just an A list junior prom. Its the kind of thing that is wrong with Washington.

TRUMP delivered his Make America Great Again message in 2012. Good idea to show the OBAMA mocks DONALD TRUMP at the next dinner.

The LAST LAUGH is on OBAMA and MSM! DONALD TRUMP keeps winning!

Thanks for the 2011 clip. I did not realize that Trump was so much on the radar even then as a presidential candidate.

Go ahead with it but ensure its well populated with conservative radio and tv types and do not invite the leftist media, tell them to eat supper at McD that night.

You are going in the right direction. I would recommend that he decline the invitation and suggest that the entire cost of the event be donated to the local food kitchens and homeless shelters in the inner city.

I have said for years that Republican presidents and their cabinet members should refrain from going. The message should be, “We will not participate in a liberal hate fest.”

Yeah, that is what he should do. Wasn’t he wanting to donate debate proceeds to Vets???? Force the media to take the spotlight off itself.
