I subscribed for DECADES until I finally got fed up with the editorial leadership in July 2002.

Last night I was re-reading the March 1964 issue of National Geographic. That issue featured an article with amazing photos of the funeral of JFK (plenty of lionizing of him, but it’s what you do after an assassination.) An article on “How We Are Getting to the Moon” with full discussion of the Apollo Project, written before one Gemini flight had been launched. Finally, an article on Islamic fundamentalism and turmoil in Yemen.

Yes, it was once a fantastic magazine. Now, it’s just another leftist propaganda rag.
