Fixing The Economy: It's been widely reported, both here and elsewhere, that President Obama is now engaged in a dramatic, last-minute regulatory binge that will require the efforts of both incoming President-elect Donald Trump and Congress to undo. What hasn't been reported is the cost: As Trump might say, it's yuuuge.
It's funny how such things as the actual costs of new rules get lost in the shuffle. But those costs are significant... ...At 80,000 pages and growing, the Federal Register, the government's regulatory bible, has become a bewildering maze of rules, requirements and impositions on business that require accountants and lawyers to maneuver through.
In recent days, Obama has unveiled five major "midnight" regulations at the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of the Interior, a report from the American Action Forum (AAF) shows. Alone, these new rules will cost about $5.1 billion...
...lesser rules will add an estimated $898 million to the regulatory tab, and another 146,000 hours of paperwork...
...when Obama took office, the EPA and Interior have added $349 billion in regulatory costs...
...rules, once put in place, are basically in place for good. That's nonsense...
...any rule put into effect can be rescinded within 60 legislative days by a majority vote of Congress. Key is that it's "legislative" days, not regular or business days. So basically, any new rule imposed since June can be taken off the books.
We would like to repeat our hope that the new president-elect, himself a businessman, will do just that: repeal as many of these growth-killing regulations as possible as soon as he enters office. The health of our economy and millions of jobs depend on it.

Just do it...and dare anyone to object.
yes, he said he would undo all of Obummer’s EOs
Answer to the question?
Easily.
And with great flourish.
The regs in question are not EO’s.
I wish I could find it--soon after the election, Trump made a short speech in which he said that for every regulation that reaches his desk, he wants to see two regulations overturned. It was a very significant statement, but I cannot find it in Google.
But as soon as the new administrators of those agencies get affirmed, they will also die a quick death. The people he nominated don’t NEED the job for financial support. I see the rapid scale back and eventual elimination of entire agencies and cabinet positions altogether. They can only handle the pay cut for only so long.
I recall him saying that as well.
If these regulations are so good, why weren’t they proposed 8 years ago? This is an obvious attempt to sabotage the Trump administration. How many dead GIs can be attributed to this clown’s release of terrorists from Guantanamo?
In some cases, the best way is for real Americans to file a lawsuit immediately after we regain the White House, President Trump’s people represent the government and lose, and the regulation disappears. Mostly though, President Trump should simply blanket repeal all executive orders, actions, and regulations from these eight terrible years.
That was in his speech at Gettysburg on his 100 day action list.
Contract with the American Voter
#3 item in the first category.
* THIRD, a requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated;

Of course
Goodness, FReepers are so amazing! I was wondering if I had dreamed Trump saying that, and you all came up with links to that statement. Thank you!
There’ll be just as many leftist lawyers out of work in those agencies. Who do you thinks writes all those regulations?
Kill each and every one of odumbo’s regulations which are definitely killing this entire country. Find him and jail him.
he should role back all regulations signed into law from the time that he was elected. and then revue all the laws canceled deciding witch one actually are needed...this will drive the left crazy but they will not be able to spend weeks going after trump each time he gets rid of a executive order that Obama.
Not sure I buy this. A rule can be implemented without Congress but it takes a majority vote of Congress to kill it?
