Take half or all of the tax off of diesel, too, because trucks and trains use diesel and that higher tax passes through to everything individuals buy as well as making it more difficult for independents to compete as much as they used to.

You make good points for sure. I’m not sure though that even with significant reduction of taxes our oil will ever be cheaper to lift out of the ground than the Middle East producers. But, having said that I get your point. Cost of refining diesel vs gasoline is about half. The rest is taxes.
