Almost every republican senator got more votes than Trump, which means Trump had no coattails. Even the detested Rubio won his senate race in a landslide by over 700,000 votes, while Trump won Florida by less than 200,000 votes. If anything, Rubio and the other senators dragged Trump over the finish line.

On the House side, Trump did have some coattails and helped several Republicans win their seats.

Yes and no; it might mean most Republican Senators did better in some areas than Trump (urban and suburban) while Trump strongly boosted their totals with monster rural turnout. In that case they helped each other. Sen Toomey and his Democrat opponent receive almost 100,000 fewer votes than Trump and Clinton, which is odd. Nevada's Senate candidates had fewer votes than the top of the ticket too. In Ohio, Portman had a huge margin over Trump and Strickland really trailed Clinton. This was mirrored in Florida. I suspect illegal votes cost both Trump and Heck Nevada, but perhaps there were enough legal votes to win it for the Democrats. Ayotte and Trump were so close in New Hampshire; it was a close election there; Johnson and the Libs took 4.1 % there.
