Taxpayers Foot Bill for ‘Doggie Hamlet’
Washington Free Beacon ^ | December 20, 2016 | Elizabeth Harrington

The National Endowment for the Arts is spending $30,000 for a series of dance performances, including Doggie Hamlet.

The “conceptual art” features actors yelling and running at sheep in a field in Vermont. Dartmouth College received the funding in the latest round of NEA grants released this month.

“Doggie Hamlet recalls the bucolic impression of a landscape painting or a 3D pastoral poem,” the group said. “The sheep, the dogs, the human performers, and the earth’s surface are at once performing as themselves and as living symbols in this work.”

This is one bureaucracy that needs to be done away with....immediately. I was surprised to see that Trump was considering someone to head this up - I thought he’d get rid of it in the blink of an eye.

Since Sly Stallone turned down the job, maybe Red-Green could do it. I know he’s Canadian, but he knows Art.

Well. Wardrobe surely wasn’t a big expense. :o)
Public TV at least does some decent stuff. The other
night, a documentary was shown about the Korean War and
the horrible conditions of both the Chinese and American
forces - the unrelenting, far below zero weather in the
mountains - toes freezing off, feet turning black from
bad frostbite, combat dead buried in frozen mass graves.
The Chinese forces had it worse than the Americans; no
helmets, no warm clothing. - Public TV can also be a bit
loopy, too, sometimes.

The dog is having a blast. The sheep are confused but they are always confused. Are they supposed to be the audience?
