I’d rather see Trump do a type of fire side chat on TV instead of rallies... The thank you tour was great, but pretty much the same theme for every one... He can circumvent the media filter by going direct via TV statements.

Dude...have you never seen a Republican Presidential Address?

The requisite talking heads start "analyzing" it into their own narrative before he even finishes speaking.

Ed Rollins said that because Reagan was at his best connecting directly with the people, they did whatever they could to be sure he got out there whenever possible. So Trump doing the same thing would be nothing new for a President.

Why is the left all of a sudden concerned with tradition?

They've always liked to know the limitations of their opposition.

Trump's breaking with "tradition" frustrates their ability to effectively undermine based on past practice.

“...I’d rather see Trump do a type of fire side chat on TV instead of rallies...”

Are you old enough to remember SNL’s sendup of Jimmah Carter during the energy crisis, where (Dan Ackroyd?) in a cardigan did a “plantside chat” in front of a cold fireplace?

Anyway, I agree that an informal setting would work to better effect for Pres. Trump than speaking from the Oval Office.

FWIW, Roosevelt gave only thirty radio “fireside chats” during his entire twelve years in office. It was not a weekly event like Fibber McGee & Molly.

I think that Trump will do a variety of things to keep the American people ahead of the MSM. Rallies, fireside chats, TV appearances to set the record straight on particularly egregious media distortions of important issues. Tweets might need to be stopped for security reasons and other issues which may prevent such spontaneous communications. We had company the other nite and tuned in to Tucker Carlson, always a bright spot on FOX, followed by the Trump rally in Fla. Great entertainment. Donald Trump was on a roll and we all laughed most of the way thru his speech. He lifts spirits and his rallies are energizing for a worn out public which has endured eight years of a poor mouthing, hypocritical, overindulged and pampered presidential couple and their anti American sycophants. Thank God we have an America First president who sees the glass as half full or overflowing instead of beyond empty as this perpetually, never happy, insufferable, current White House couple views this country.

I’m thinking we’ll be calling a lot because with McCain and Graham it’s pretty much 50/50.

Love the idea. It would be nice to go to the states like Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico and turn them red in four years.

“Yup. Rallies will keep him fired up too. He loves ‘em.”

He feeds the audience and they feed him.
A perfect symbiotic relationship.

Donald Trump has the ability to forever change presidential politics.

"...bypass the MSM..."

Rallies and Tweets.
He's doing a new thing - curve ball in a fast ball count.

Yep, Mr. Trump will take it to the people bypassing both the media and those in office who will fight against much of his agenda. Go, Trump!

I like it. He could continue doing rallies, stay active on his twitter account, do live internet streaming of occasional fireside chats, and invite Hannity to the White House for occasional TV appearances here and there. Totally ignore the MSM, he doesn't need them.
