NY Times opposition, is a great recommendation.
The egghead ivory tower academics that the left prefers are specialists at pontificating and posturing, but produce lousy results.
Intellectuals, Yet Idiots (IYI) as Nassim Taleb called them.
Newt Gingrinch recommended Taleb’s article (https://medium.com/@nntaleb/the-intellectual-yet-idiot-13211e2d0577#.q580o9s2u), to understand why Trump won.
Here’s a taste:
“What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking clerks and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us 1) what to do, 2) what to eat, 3) how to speak, 4) how to think and 5) who to vote for.
But the problem is the one-eyed following the blind: these self-described members of the intelligentsia cant find a coconut in Coconut Island”
And is inllectual yet idiot theme nails the D.C. Thinktankery culture of 27 yr old snowlflakes with MPAs and MPPs from Georgetown or American University who earn a living writing policy papers on how D.C. should be telling everyone else what to do while knowing how to do nothing themselves.
Thanks for posting, IMHO the best article ever to describe the Intellectuals, Yet Idiots (IYI) and the danger to America and every American still alive in spite of their dangerous advice.
They try to tell us how to live our lives, what to eat, what not to eat, where and how to live, what to drive or not drive, who to vote for and countless other bs. They don’t want Americans to think for themselves, they want to tell us how to live 24/7.
