That's called leadership. Like CFA, he sets high expectations of his employees and sets the example himself.
People write off urban areas, but much of the problem are bureaucrats, teachers, and leaders who don't try to inspire people. Instead they feed grievances, blame the "the Man" or "white privilege" and generally make things worse.
I spent over 30 years in both the active Army and National Guard. I found exceptional performers and chapter cases spread fairly evenly across all races. With few exceptions, people respond to good leadership regardless of their genetic background. In our inner cities, the problem is too few people willing to step up and provide that leadership.

Not the nicest area of town, but the entire staff is black, and they are friendly, quick and efficient.

Chick-fil-A pays more than minimum wage. Premium wages draw premium employees.

The wonderful jobs that drove the unprecedented recovery from the disastrous mess Bush left will once again be disparaged as 'burger flipping jobs' the second Trump is sworn in. The only real question is whether burger flipping jobs will beat the magically reappearing homeless to the front page!

Daughter #2 had some of her references called.
Daughter #3 was just asked when she could start.
I know three and they all get around better than I ever hope to.
One eats out every day while I have pinch pennies and cook at home. Grocery shopping puts my knee out of commission for two days but it has to be done.
Another is a total loony tune who gets $2000 in free meds every month on top of their SSDI. They are constantly getting something repossessed and moving because they don’t pay their rent.
The third one just got back from vacationing in Vegas. Two or three weeks before that was a cruise. Her facebook has a dozen pictures of her running a marathon. Please, I’d like to have that disability.
I’ve tried a few times to turn these grifters in but Soc Sec wants all of my personal info. Excuse me, I’m not the one who should be on trial. It’s no wonder so many continually rip off the taxpayers.
The kids working at Chick-fil-A are some of the most polite employees I ever saw Usually something you see only in the south.
Obama’s sons are low life scums. This young man has values so wouldn’t be invited to the white hut build by slaves. However, he is the sort who would be invited to the Trump White House.

Now that gives me hope for the future right there. What a wonderful story. And I bet he didn't even think that he was doing anything special or praiseworthy by coming in. People like that have their priorities right (hint: it isn't "me me me me").

This story would be too difficult for the US MSM. It has a conflict of victimization: Black kid overcoming his circumstances, loves the Lord, and is taking responsibility. Gay hating CF again shows itself to be a stand-up business. Better to leave the poor struggling black kids in the dust than to show CF in a positive light. In the hierarchy of victim hood, gay trumps black, and is neck and neck with muslim.
I had to deal with ordering groceries for a relative...but money wasn’t a problem so some of the options wouldn’t work for you. Like Omaha steaks. Food is expensive.
Walmart and target do free shipping. Walmart has a shipping pass like amazon but there is a waiting list. I always tried to at least order $20 bucks worth but you can order one item and get free shipping. With minimum orders Target and walmart do free shipping.target gift cards counted toward mininum order but walmart did not.
Etc.
Btw, if you have a Kroger in your area or one of their sister stores.. they started doing online ordering and you can pick it up. Includes frozen items , too. Target and walmart also do instore pickup.
My next door neighbor has three adult children living at home - two of them work, I think their daughter might have learning difficulties that prevent her from working. In any case, they are great kids and I don’t understand this dislike of children living at home if the family supports it. They are all happy and productive. People forget that in the past many generations of families lived together - it’s why we had those huge, cheaply built Victorians scattered across the landscape.
Pajama boys and girls, of course, are a different animal.

You could say that. Her sisters set the bar high, but she was able to clear it. She is now a successful business executive in Tokyo and earns more than her husband, a nice young man and father of our two awesome grandsons.
