I didn’t know you were on the committee to vet Trump’s choices. I’m not, so please pass on to the committee that I’m pretty happy so far with all the choices.
BTW, I haven’t claimed to be conservative since last year when so many insisted that if I were truly conservative I would vote Cruz. Now I just claim to be American.

Maybe Trump is making a mistake, maybe it is hard to understand but he has a plan and we can evaluate him on what he said he wants to do. He wants to talk to Taiwan, move the Israel embassy, end regime change...he’s not getting those ideas from crony globalists.

As a Citizen, I want to be VIGILANT. I don’t need to be in an official committee to VET someone and report what was discovered to others.
If you’re happy with this particular pick despite his background, I have nothing else to say to you.
Add to that the fact that Tillerson himself is an Eagle Scout, as am I. I don’t like the idea of gay scoutmasters anymore than I like the idea of male Girl Scout leaders; bad idea, bad chemistry.
I haven’t been involved in scouting since I graduated from high school, but if scouting is in any way similar to what it was when I was young (I belonged to packs and troops officially sponsored by the US Air Force, which is no longer allowed by DoD), scouting is a good influence on any young man - gay or otherwise - and I strongly suspect that there were gay (we didn’t use that word then) young men in a few of my troops. Beyond that regarding scouting, see my first comment.
Finally, if anyone believes that Trump is going to find any nominee, for any cabinet position, that is not objectionable to someone for some reason, he is going to have a two-man administration.
FR is a conservative site. If Trump suddenly decides that abortion is the American thing to do, we’re not just going to be sycophants and respond “well, he’s still better than Obama”

On Sunday I stopped into a convenience store and a kid was outside selling pop corn. I asked what the cause was and he said "scouting!" and held up his uniform. He heartily suggested I get the $10 caramel corn. I told him that it was outrageously expensive for a small bag of caramel corn but that I would buy it because I appreciated his initiative and his involvement in scouts. I know all the PC stuff makes headlines but I also know participating in scouting does good things for lots of boys.
