As I just posted in another shooting of a LEO:
I do believe all loud domestic or otherwise squabbles require police to suit up and not go it alone if at all possible. Too many ferals and other cretinous types have decided that their duty is to die if necessary but to take a cop or 2 with them.
Ricketson identified the deceased man as 31-year-old Rainer Tyler Smith.
Journalism really is dead, isn't it?
Officer William Patterson was treated at Navicent Health in Macon and released, Byron police Chief Wesley Cannon told Channel 2 Action News.
The other officer, James Wynn, was seriously injured and underwent surgery
I'm glad Officer Patterson was not seriously injured, and I pray Officer Wynn recovers.
I guess this is him http://georgia.arrests.org/search.php?fname=rainer&fpartial=True&lname=smith
Long ago. But look at it this way: The incident has an upside. The officers will recover. Smith was killed in the exchange thus sparing the taxpayers the burden of supporting him while incarcerated and sparing the rest of society however many depredations he would have committed during the remainder of his life.
CNN says that six police in Georgia were shot within six days.
And I say that CNN is to blame for much of this.
"I know he shot two cops, was a violent man and would continue to do harm to the public. But did they need to shoot him? He was a good boy."
I agree. The Obama & left in general, including CNN, have instigated this and encouraged it.
I hope they will both recover. One article I saw seemed to indicate that officer Wynn was seriously injured.
Of course, in the photo of him in his dress uniform he looked to be pretty tough and healthy, so I’m hoping for the best.
Not to mention Obama and Holder.
