He settled on Mr. Tillerson, a deal maker who has spent the past four decades at Exxon, much of it in search of oil and gas agreements in troubled parts of the world. A native of Wichita Falls, Tex., who speaks with a strong Texas twang, Mr. Tillerson, 64, runs a company with operations in about 50 countries, cutting deals to expand business in Venezuela, Qatar, Kurdistan and elsewhere.
Chamber of Commerce must be thrilled.
God help and forgive us.
Mr. Kushner and Mr. Trumps chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon, advocated strongly for Mr. Tillerson, and the president-elect became intrigued.
Looks like we are getting package deal: The Donald and thirtysomethings Jared and Ivanka. Lovely.
Lodi, who again was it that you thought would be a great SOS?
This is a good pick. Maybe Tillerson can straighten out the most dangerous thing that Trump has to deal with...the deep state within State!
You are a butthurt Romney supporter aren’t you? Your trolling is obvious.
Best pick in my lifetime.
Compared to what: John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Cyrus Vance, Henry Kissinger.
He is a world scale businessman who knows how to play a strong hand.

Not at all. I’m a “butthurt” Trump support (since the “Mexican rapist” speech) shocked at this tone deaf pick. It’s a disaster on so many levels I don’t know where to begin. Nothing good will come of this. It’s all bad.
You don’t view it wisely.
Wisdom is a single fact: Russia is the #1 oil producer in the world. It is civilization’s lifeblood and they have most of it with that huge surface area.
Russia is the focus. Nothing else. This guy knows Russia.
Taking Drill, Baby, Drill to a whole new level. Let’s export that black liquid and get our debt under control. The House of Saud can pound sand.
It was gates who pushed for gays in the Boy Scouts. But, he also pushed Tillerson.
as much as I like The Donald’s other picks, didn’t we beat Russia in the Cold War for a reason? so only America can be an influential world power? It seems like Trump might not have a problem with there being another world power; not very Reagan-like.
Rex is for making deals with foreign leaders. That’s what he knows what to do. Bolton will probably be deputy and clean up the inside because he was there. I don’t think foreign leaders would even open the door to Bolton because they know where he is coming from.
I am disappointed in Steve Bannon for recommending this guy.
