California probably gained more than any other state from the Affordable Care Act, the federal health reform better known as Obamacare. Now, with the program facing an almost certain demise, the state and its low-income residents have the most to lose.

The Medi-Cal expansion was funded almost entirely by federal taxpayers.
We in the ultra liberal, very blue, voted for Hillary, wish to thank you deplorables for your generosity.
1 in 3 adults, and 50% of the Children of California are on Medicaid California’s (Medi-Cal).
Should have been written:
1 in 3 adults, and 50% of the Children of California are on Medi-Cal, Californias (Medicaid).
Medi-Cal will soon cover children in the U.S. illegally. The real battle? Getting adults insured

Hopefully, this will change.
I don’t want this.
Get those kids ouda here.
They don’t belong here. It’s not our problem.
We waste billions here in California on foreign nationals.
That explains where a huge portion of our money is going. Illegal aliens are with this and in many other ways, financially raping us. Congress has been complicit. It has to stop. Now.
Gosh. Maybe they should secede...
Gets my vote. (rawhide theme)...
Not equating these people with cattle, but it’s time to move them out.

That’s a separate issue from Obamacare.
No poor person will lose their health coverage.
All that will happen is other people will get better health care coverage.
Its a lie that repealing and replacing Obamacare will effect Medicaid.
California needs to be held accountable for its mistake. Let the voters feel the pain. Perhaps they will learn to avoid “free” federal goodies. Unlikely, but perhaps.
There is nothing affordable about the ACA (sic).
Good luck ever winning another presidential election if many tens of millions lose health insurance with no comparable replacement.
I agree with you.
However, we need to do something about California’s burden. Now that will be hard, because California’s leadership thinks things are just great.
1/3rd of adults are on Medi-Cal. 1/2 of Children are on Medi-Cal. That’s just plain outrageous.
“Its a lie that repealing and replacing Obamacare wiall effect Medicaid.”
I believe it really isn’t clear at this point whether Expanded Medicaid will be affected. Yes, the budgeting is separate and the budgeting horizon is different but they could undo the whole thing. Or not.
About 2 million of those people are Mexicans. They have no legal right to be in USA.
Medicaid will still be available.
Dems living beyond their means. Now let them live within their means, aka, suck it up buttercup! Elections have consequences according to nancy pelosi. Take your meds, according to john roberts, the russians hacked the election according to hillary....we’re going to create millions of jobs and put people back to work...according to Trump Magnus!
I live in California and have privelige and honor to pay $15,000 in health care premiums for my wife and myself under Obamacare. And the bonus is that the first $6000 of our care for each of us is on us.
We eat right, don’t smoke and exercise. We never get close to the $6000 each. But I guess I’m OK with that.
Oh, but we do get a free flu shot.
Do you have any idea how many anchor babies and then their babies have been born in California. That 50% number should tell you something.
What a putrid pantload is Obozocare!!! (and Hillarycare, too!!!)
My daughter and her husband will be paying about $1,000 a month with $6,000 deductible here in the Redwoods...
