Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday he would work with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to unravel the Iranian nuclear deal negotiated by the Barack Obama administration and other world powers in July 2015.
The Israeli leader, in an interview with CBSs 60 Minutes that aired Sunday night, added that there were various ways of undoing the agreement that he has railed against and which he called a historic mistake for the world after its signing.
Netanyahu said he had five proposals that Trump could seek to implement in place of the current nuclear agreement, which sought to peg back Irans nuclear program in return for the lifting of crippling sanctions on the Islamic Republics economy. Trump has been a harsh critic of the agreement.
I have about five things in my mind, Netanyahu said, without going into details. He also admitted to differences of opinion with Obama over Iran, as already evidenced by Netanyahus March 2015 trip to lobby both sides of the U.S. Congress on the Iran deal before it was signed, breaking diplomatic protocol as it was without an invitation from Obama.
Irans conservative leadership regularly threatens Israel with destruction and supports groups that seek to attack and have attacked Israel, including Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah and the Palestinian Sunni militant group Hamas. Israel fears that Iranian moves towards a nuclear weapon, or an agreement that gives Iran back billions in funds, would threaten its national security.
On the presidential campaign trail, Trump pledged to destroy the deal if he secured the presidency, calling the agreement one of the worst deals ever made by any country in history. He has also criticized the amount of money that could be returned to the Iranian government under the agreement.

What a team - President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu.
With this coalition in tact the world will be a much safer and predictable place.
Strange stuff. Netanyahu is developing good relations with Russia. Iran already has good relations with Russia. But somehow I don’t see Israel and Iran developing good relations...
And with Rex Tillerson, having close ties to Russia and given Russia’s Order of Friendship Award as the favorite for the Secretary of State, who knows what’s going on behind the scenes?
Excellent.
I am sure they will be able to come up with ways to cancel the Iran nuclear agreement.
You’re so right! Trump and Bibi working together cooperatively is just wonderful news. Happy dance worthy news after eight very dark years.
After the Soviet Union collapsed, many Russians moved to Israel. Yisrael Beitenu is Israel’s “Russian” party
My guess as to Netanyahu’s 5 proposals:
#1 - Nuke them from planes
#2 - Nuke them from submarines
#3 - Nuke them with ICBMs
#4 - Smuggle nukes into their facilities, then detonate remotely
#5 - Nuke them from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure.
if the US can work out a deal with Russia, perhaps we can move them away from Iran.
Meh, Russia is worse than Iran as far as I’m concerned. Iran is only a regional threat, Russia is a global one.
The only solution is to bomb Iran. Kill their leaders calling for the killing of millions of people.
Thanks, Bibi, that’s cute.
But you are not “giving” President Trump five options — he is giving you one, which you will take.
Good plan. Serious options on the tactical and strategic fronts. No downside. No possible unforeseen consequences.
Plan is a GO. D-day Jan 20 12:01.
It’s not that strange, if you bring it down to the level of the TMZ, or the like. You have a man with a wife and a mistress — you don’t expect the wife and the mistress to get along. (I’m not saying who’s who, in this little analogy.)
Terrorists should seek their safe spaces along with the Rats and generation snowflake...
Iran is, however, building a big arsenal of ICBM,s capable of carrying/dropping nuclear bombs
the ICBM’s are developing with north Korea
and...Iran has repeatedly stated its intention to destroy its Great Satan, socalled, meaning USA, first and foremost.
including even listing its six or seven top=priority traget American cities for nuking
All this pretty much in the last 6 or 8 years in major measure, ..... thanks to Obama of course, Iran is no longer just a regional threat (tho of course they remain that, t00)
..Iran is now a global threat, at least insofar as Iran threatens USA
“Iran is, however, building a big arsenal of ICBM,s capable of carrying/dropping nuclear bombs
the ICBMs are developing with north Korea”
Neither Iran nor North Korea has the capability to build ICBMs that could reach us, and without assistance from someone like Russia or China, they most likely never will.
They received two F 35's today.
