Not with their current idiot management, they can’t.

“Sears symbolizes America when America was great.”

That is precisely what they should capitalize on. Say they are making Sears great again, and do it. There needs to be a retailer aimed at normal America. They might be surprised at what just a few right moves and some marketing that basically gave the finger to the blue state mentality might do.

I do believe that America can be great again but it will be significantly different than it was before. For instance, my son still has all his tools from Sears that he and his father used to work on their cars and were always tinkering with them. My grandson has his own car and can change a tire and his oil but new cars aren’t designed to be worked on anywhere but at the dealer’s shop.

I still have my Kenmore sewing machine and used to make a lot of our clothes, but very few people sew anymore and it is not taught in school either.

Seems like the new Sears management team didn’t take the time to find out who there core customers really were and made some suppositions that just weren’t true.

We had Kenmore appliances as far back as I can remember - even in the late 1940’s. Would no longer buy one from them now thought.

Just sad.

It’s kinda personal with this old lady. In 1962 I was introduced to my future husband by a friend - they both worked at Sears and she thought we would be a good match.

The marriage didn’t last as long as Sears - but would produce four great kids.

The cycle of life and retail:)

I agree. It makes me sad to see what's happened to Sears. For me, and nearly everyone with whom I grew up, getting a Sears credit card was one of the first financial decisions, learning to use it responsibly. My first purchase was a Craftsman tool set, and later, after I bought my first house, I bought a washer, dryer, and microwave from Sears. Twenty two years later, when I sold the house, it included all three, still working perfectly!
