My Norg wife use to say speaking Dutch was just speaking Norwegian with a potato in your mouth. That image all ways made me grin.

My late friend negotiated all afternoon over a boat this old Dutchman had for sale for 12 grand. A fair price. My Irish buddy thought he was pretty good himself and when they got talking around 10 grand my buddy said he’d go sleep on it and come back tomorrow.No firm price was set.
When we got back the next day my friend told the fisherman that he’d take it for 10 grand. The old guy looked at him dead serious and said “that was yesterday’s price. Today’s price is 12 grand.” My friend paid the 12 grand and we drove off with the boat.He got a good boat at a fair price and some leading.
