Full Title: John Kelly, Trumps Homeland Security pick, gave a remarkable speech 4 days after his son died serving in Afghanistan
On Veterans Day in 2010, inside an unremarkable hotel ballroom in St. Louis, Marine Gen. John F. Kelly, delivered what the Washington Post described as a passionate and at times angry speech about the militarys sacrifices and its troops growing sense of isolation from society.
That he was able to speak at all was remarkable. Four days earlier, Kellys 29-year-old son, Marine 1st Lt. Robert Michael Kelly, stepped on a land mine while leading a patrol in southern Afghanistan. He was killed instantly.
John Kelly, President-elect Donald Trumps reported pick for Homeland Security chief, never spoke of his fallen son by name during the speech to the Semper Fi Society that he had committed to give long before his sons death. According to the Post, the elder Kelly made one request to the officer who introduced him: Please dont mention my son.

Hell, I'll say right now he's the best pick for POTUS in 2024.
I wish he were Secretary of State!

He’s just bringing superb talent. All around.
The best talent in America.
On Sat. November 13, 2010 at the Hyatt Under the Arch in St Louis, MO,
Lt Gen John Kelly delivered a speech to a packed house that would
become one of the most memorable moments in the lives of everyone in the room.
Just 4 days after his son, 1st Lt Robert Kelly, was killed in action in Afghanistan,

Trump’s picks are great...if I am disappointed with a pick it would be Linda McMahon for SBA.
I'm just sitting and chuckling as I hear about those Marines while I contemplate the numbers of Retirement, Request for Transfer or Resignation letters must be coming out of the Federal "workforce" in anticipation of the Judgement Day coming at 'em.
Wow! Thanks so much for posting!!!!!
