Instead, the hats read, "Steve Rogers for Governor."

Rogers, a township commissioner in Nutley, has formally joined the ever-growing race to succeed Chris Christie as New Jersey's governor, kicking off his campaign for the Republican nomination with a Trump-like message Thursday.

Has no chance of winning in Deep Blue NJ.

Give him marks though for the effort.

True. I live in NJ. Christie is so unpopular, that the NJ GOP may suffer because of his unpopularity.

I read something about Trump not being impressed that Christie let two underlings take the fall for Bridgegate. Can’t tell you if it’s true or not.

I think another factor was from what happened on Election Night. As the Trump family and entourage were on the stage for his victory speech, Chris Christie was practically shoving people out of his way to get closer to Trump so that he could get into the same camera shots with him.

Re: Christie falling out of favor, I think Trump also didn’t like the quality / talent of people Christie was recommending as part of transition efforts, as well as the incessant politicking......

I see now that Christie not a lock for GOP chair.
