Good Samaritans Help Police Officer After Brighton Attack
CBS Boston ^ | December 7, 2016

A man is accused of a brutal attack on a Boston Police officer Tuesday night.

The incident happened in front of families dropping their kids off for skating in Brighton, and that’s when bystanders had to jump in and help the officer.

That officer was responding to a report of a suspicious person around 6:30 p.m.

Witnesses say 45-year-old Patrick Lowry of Belmont was drinking from an open container and had urinated in front of several families at The Skating Club of Boston on Soldiers Field Road.

The officer went up to Lowry and offered him a ride to a nearby shelter. When the officer asked him to empty a nearly full can of beer, witnesses say Lowry threw it at the officer, hitting him in the head above his left eye. He then allegedly lunged at the officer and grabbed him.

Both men fell to the ground and the officer hit his head on the pavement. Police say Lowry then punched and kicked the officer several times and tried to get his gun.

The officer lost his radio in the scuffle, so witnesses called 911. Two other witnesses also came to the aid of the officer by restraining Lowry until more officers arrived.

In a statement, Boston Police said, “We are grateful they were not harmed during the incident and thank them for their selfless actions.”

Paramedics took the officer to the hospital with head, neck and back injuries. He is now recovering.

Lowry will be in court in Brighton on several charges.

The motel next door to the Skating Club is where the 911 attackers stayed the night before they flew out of Logan Airport.

Sore anti-Trump loser?

It has got to be a horribly tough job to be a Boston cop in a city run by Democrat idiots, with idiot Democrat voters, and low-grade morons running wild in the streets.

Thank you, brave, good Samaritans for aiding this officer.

You will be sued by the perp’s family. That’s the Boston Way.

Good on the citizens who helped the officer!

Why did the officer offer to take him to a shelter instead of arresting him? ....The PC crap has to stop.

The ACLU threatened Reagan & they wanted the mental hospitals closed. Let all those people loose into the general population.
Then—the problem was CONTAINED.....

Now, the problem is larger & it is UNCONTAINED-—

Many of the incidents between police officers & these mental persons have had tragic results—for both participants.

There is no way for an officer to know they might be dealing with a person with mental problems, instead of just a drunk.

Open up the closed military bases & house these people under controlled conditions. Too many LEO’s are being seriously hurt or killed.

Under the outgoing regime that would have been abused, soviet style, to imprison dissenters.

I think you’re on the right track there.

I’m not sure about military bases, but something does need to be done.

Medication doesn’t solve the issue, because many healthy people find it hard to stick to a self-medication regimen. Imagine how that works out for people who do have serious issues.
