My Carolina encounter. 30 or so years ago my sister and I were walking down Madison Avenue. Walking toward us were Carolina and Reinaldo Herrera. As they passed us I said that’s Carolina Herrera. We turned to look and saw that the Herreras had turned and they were looking and pointing at us. What impressed me was that it was when she was just starting out as a designer, still unknown, and although it was a hot Friday in August she was still in the city working on her collection rather than escaping for the summer or at least the weekend like everybody else in her set. I knew then that she would be a success.
She is quite a woman. Beautiful, elegant and all class.
