Daniel Payne, director of the Pentagon's Defense Security Service, admitted this spring to encountering unbelievable amounts of child pornography on government computers.
The comment came during an event in Virginia where military and intelligence officials gathered to address threats posed by federal workers. Mr. Payne, who spent much of his career in senior CIA and intelligence community roles before taking the Pentagon post, wanted to stress the value of monitoring employees' systems to ensure they remained fit to handle top-secret information.
But the revelation raised many more troubling questions. Who was downloading the sexually explicit and criminal material? How much of it was on intelligence agency networks? And why didn't the federal government deploy more robust technologies to keep child pornography from spreading on its networks?
While the notion of government employees and contractors with high levels of security clearance looking at child pornography was disturbing on its own, internal records retrieved through the Freedom of Information Act revealed the problem is not limited to military and intelligence agencies.
In the past three years, agencies ranging from the Postal Service to the Federal Highway Administration substantiated about 40 allegations that employees or contractors opened child pornography or provocative images of minors using government resources. The number of confirmed cases may be higher now since many federal organizations, such as the National Security Agency (NSA), did not respond to requests for records about similar investigations.

A real news source, not bloggers. A credible government official who is putting the claims out on-the-record. Names of agencies. Specifics.
I have never doubted that there are unknown and untold levels of corruption and criminal activity both within government and by government employees. I doubt that many of the "pizzagate deniers" do either. But we expect a higher level of proof and don't appreciate being insulted when we don't accept circumstantal evidence and compspiracy theories (no matter how often they're repeated). If saying a thing is true would make it true we'd have global warming.
Bring focus onto this issue by calling for investigation into the claims made in this article. Tell your elected officials that this is a vital starting point to drain the swamp, because there are no lower forms of life than those would traffic in child porn.
Yet another thing to get to work on ASAP. Wow.
Getting fired and arrested over child porn would save lots of red tape in the usual difficult stages of firing a govt employee, would it not?
The problem is not the child porn.
The problem is that people in government positions access things they are forbidden to access on government equipment, and no one is doing anything to put an end to it, even though it is very simple and easy to stop.
Was it not reported a few years back, that ‘federal agencies’ started to block en masse website access from any and all desk computers, not related to the functions within those offices?
Got to put “pizzagate” on the headers because this is going to explode a horror no one wants to believe lives next door to them. The main stream media is expending far too much effort to portray this as a witch hunt. They don’t do that unless some of their own may be involved.
It would be nice to stop that behavior, but it’s not going to happen. As an alternative, perhaps they should reformat government devices quarterly. Make people save their files and browser preferences to a thumb drive every three months, scan the thumb drive, and wipe/re-image everything else. At least malware wouldn’t stay on for long.
Drain the Swamp. Fire for cause all civil servants who have child porn on their computers... on on shared servers where the file can be found with their fingerprints on it.
Is this how they got John Roberts?
So what you are saying is that now that proof of widespread child porn in government has been found it is proof that suspicions of widespread child porn in government weren’t true!?!
The fact that officials within government agencies are involved in creating and viewing child porn IS Pizzagate.
That is what we are talking about.
The fact that CNN/WaPo/etc are all fighting not to cover the story is the problem.
You say “real source.” What’s a real source these days? The ones that tell us Trump is a Nazi or government officials that tell us Gulf of Tonkin was the North Vietnamese or ...
WE ARE THE PRESS.
WE ARE THE F.B.I.
WE ARE ANONYMOUS.
If we don’t investigate, the powerful won’t be accountable.
Trump was just elected POTUS in large part because of our work with Wikileaks.
If you aren’t part of the fight, you’re helping the enemy.
Fire them?
What am I missing? Shouldn’t they be arrested and criminally prosecuted?
“If saying a thing is true would make it true we’d have global warming.”
And Jackie Erdley from Rolling Stone would be getting a Pulitzer for her campus rape “exposé”.
One would think... unless the intent is to make the stuff available to government employees to find out which ones might have a taste for the stuff... then fast track those employees to positions of importance, invite them to a “podesta pizza party” to get them on film in a compromising position with a minor (since no one cares about prostitutes or interns any more) and then control them going forward...
I don’t think a picture would be half downloaded before the knock would come on my offfice door.
No child porn on any of my devises, including my head.
No. The PROBLEM is no one is asking who these children are and where are they coming from and how do these freaks get precious children to “perform” for the child porn videos!
“Bring focus onto this issue by calling for investigation into the claims made in this article. “
Yes because investigations into the truth and people held accountable for things like Fast and Furious, IRS Targeting of Conservative Groups, Benghazi, Hillary’s leaked emails etc. have been so successful.
Personally I think they have enough ‘circumstantial’ evidence to get a warrant and go in there with swat teams plus an army of forensic evidence collectors all supervised by some independent concerned groups and individuals. They also need to start hauling in some of the people that responded to the various emails, twitter, facebook, blogs and be asked what they meant by some of their comments.
Now that’s something I hadn’t thought of and unfortunately it sounds way too plausible after the ‘in your face corruption’ we’ve been witnessing. There’s always got to be some low level minions too.
Great point, bigbob - I’m surprised the pizza gate fanatics/bullies haven’t come out in masse to flame you more. Maybe the idiot walking into a family filled Pizza joint firing off a round woke up a few of them.
When I tried pointing out that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, I was pounced on and accused of aiding pedos, and told by several of these conspiracy nutters that they felt the opposite was true. Not sure what country they think we are living in.
Great post about a REAL issue.
“When I tried pointing out that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”
So what would be YOUR plan to get to the truth?
