Unidentified warplanes are striking the town Akhtarin, located north of the Shahba region, it was reported on Tuesday.

According to local sources, the town Akhtarin under Turkish army and affiliated gang groups’ occupation north of the Shahba region, the countryside north of the al-Bab region, is being struck intensively by unidentified warplanes.

According to reports, there are many Turkish soldier and affiliated gang groups’ casualties as a result of the ongoing airstrikes.

According to official Turkish military sources, five Turkish soldiers died and many others were injured in previous unknown airstrikes against the same region. Whilst Turkey blamed the Syrian regime for the airstrikes, both Russia and Syria denied the claims of having involvement in the airstrikes.

If true, could only be Russian or Syrian aircraft hitting the Turks. Mucho trouble either way. IMO, no way Erdogan would be in Syria wo Obama's blessings :-/ This activity is very close to Allepo.

This is a big deal.

Turkey was convoying a bunch of tanks into Syria today (a major escalation, which threatens not just al Bab, but possibly a wider invasion of Syria).

The Syrians/Russians have for the first time, directly targeted and killed Turkish military personnel taking part in the Turkish “Euphrates Shield” operation, inside of Syria.

This could blow up into open war with Turkey.

Hot mess for the incoming Administration.

Unidentified warplanes?

BS there is tons of radar all over that region. Nothing gets off the ground without everyone seeing it.

Russia is aiming at them of course. Trump will help Russia take out the ones they are helping i.e. ISIS.

Turkey is a NATO member, but given their turn toward radial Islam in the last two years, is not really friendly to the west.

In retaliation, they will pour “refugees” into Europe. Western Europe will accept them but Eastern Europe, some of whom suffered under the Ottoman Empire in the past, will block them.

What could go wrong?

Turkey has a more legitimate interest in Syria than the Russians

Except that the Russians are invited in by a sovereign nation, whereas Turkey has committed an act of war.

Other than that, you're right...
