Steep losses by antiregime rebels in Syria have scrambled U.S. policy calculations at a crucial moment in the country’s long-running war, with the election of Donald Trump already pointing to the possibility of a dramatic shift when he takes office in January.

Mr. Trump hasn't detailed his plans for Syria, but has outlined a likely break from the Obama administration, which has supplied small amounts of arms and funding to militias attempting to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad and has separately fought the Islamic State extremist group.

Everything the Obama administration has done in Syria(and the rest of the idle east) has been a miserable failure.

Berry's Al quada allies are getting their asses kicked like everyone else Berry supports. It makes me sick to think about our Green Berets on the ground fighting in that hellhole. Hopefully president Trump will get them out of there as soon as he can.

Bush failed when he tried to push democracy in Iraq and Gaza. Obama kept the failures and threw out the successes

Well who could have predicted the ‘rebels’ would ‘falter’?

Islam is against personal freedom and general independence of all sorts of meanings. To make progress Islam has to go.

McCain, Graham and Rubio helped arm the jihadis, don’t forget to give them the “credit” they deserve.

How long has the president been waging a covert war in Syria?
What national interest compels us to wage a war in Syria?
Where are the anti war protests?
How many Americans have been killed?
How many Syrians have been killed?
When does congress declare war on Syria?
Who are the combatants in this conflict?

The questions go on and on

WTF ARE WE DOING IN SYRIA?

The McCain/Obama policy of aiding that group of dissidents is a disaster. They have little independent support within Syria, do they would totally depend on us. When the Democrats and Republican isolationists inevitably began to desert them, they would be forced to work with ISIS to survive.

McCain and Graham deserve no credit.

They are two faced liars and a disgrace the our great country.

They went along when Obama armed and funded ISIS.

People like Bush and Sharansky thought islam could be reformed if muslims were under democracies. They meant well.. they weren’t globalists. But it was a great mistake and I am glad we’ve moved on

None of our allies are threatened by Syria. This is something the gulf states and Turkey wanted for strategic reasons

We are doing the bidding of the Saudis and the Gulf states who want a pipeline through Syria.
Overthrowing Assad was deemed necessary by them to accomplish that.

It’s time for Obama’s shockingly stupid policy to disappear. “Let’s support the weakest side in a three-way war” makes sense to no one except perhaps to Obama.

All of the Bush family are globalists, GHW Bush actually used the words New World Order.

‘Bout time the ‘rebels’ were wiped out.
That is the only way Syria will find peace.
If the rebels won, Syria would go the way of Libya with each faction against all the others.
