I like the carrot but not the stick. Instead, we need set up a tax/legal environment that encourages companies to do business here in general. That’s the president’s real job.

Will we give deeper tax breaks to companies that move INTO the US?

“President-elect Trump doubles down on 35% tax for businesses that ship jobs out of U.S.”

What they fail to say is he is doubling down holding an 11. The media wants to portray it like he is doubling down and is holding a 6.

Trump is going to pull a 10. He has for his entire career and has proven it time and time again. Maybe one day they will get it.

Good in some ways but I would prefer to reward those who do business in the USA and craft trade deals with those who do not.

In the end the best bet is to create a business climate that incentivizes people to start new businesses here. If they are so successful that they want to expand to other countries, that’s great. But if the business climate is advantageous here they will keep the main body of their business here.

We can’t compete on wages so we have to compete in other ways to incentivize business to locate and stay here.

I would rather it be across the board rather than favoring one business or another with special deals.

He also said: these companies are able to move between all 50 states, with no tax or tariff being charged. Please be forewarned prior to making a very ...expensive mistake! THE UNITED STATES IS OPEN FOR BUSINESSexpensive mistake! THE UNITED STATES IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Some one tell me please if businesses can't find most of what they're looking for in this vast country? And don't just say max profits.

And what about companies that ship IT jobs or accounting jobs or call center jobs or medical jobs overseas? How is he going to sanction them?

Foreign nations have been taxing our imports for years. We have tried to offset these taxes without imposing our own tariffs. That needs to change.

The Foreign Value Added Tax: Making Our Exports Uncompetitive

In 2001, European countries had a VAT rate of 19.2 percent. By 2005, 94 percent of U.S. exports received a VAT. In the same year, foreign governments received rebates of $239 billion from the tax while collecting $131 billion from U.S. producers of goods and services.

I agree with this 35 % tax because this is war. It is for the survival of America. In a way you can think of these companies as ISIS. They lack what Americans need, jobs, jobs, jobs. It the only way America can survive. What kind of fool want to destroy their very existence.

It might just be a good idea to keep some critical manufacturing infrastructure in this country.
If there is an EMP attack/event, wouldn’t it be nice to have companies that make transformers and capacitors?
What about computer systems and engines? It might be a little hard to order components from China if we go to war with them.

Steve Moore, an economic advisor to Trump, said that the US taxes our OWN products going overseas, but doesn’t tax imports. That is so unbalanced it sreams if it’s true.
