Breaking: Michigan AG files suit to block Stein recount

Maybe Hillary Clinton won’t need those recount volunteers in Michigan after all. Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed a lawsuit to block the recount demand, challenging Jill Stein’s standing and pointing out that the Green Party nominee had provided no evidence of any irregularities that would require the state to spend the money and risk missing the Electoral College:

Michigan voters rejected Stein’s candidacy by massive margins but her refusal to accept that state-verified result poses an expensive and risky threat to hard-working taxpayers and abuses the intent of Michigan law,” Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, a Republican, said. “We have asked the court to end the recount which Stein is pursuing in violation of Michigan laws that protect the integrity of our elections. It is inexcusable for Stein to put Michigan voters at risk of paying millions and potentially losing their voice in the Electoral College in the process.”

Schuette’s lawsuit, filed on behalf of the state, asks the Michigan Board of Canvassers to reject Stein’s recount request on the grounds that Stein has acknowledged she has no evidence that fraud or widespread errors were committed.

Along with the Trump complaint filing yesterday, this is good. NOTE THE END:

"The Detroit Free Press is also reporting that the state legislature plans to change the law on recounts to force candidates to foot its entire bill when the state doesn’t have to conduct a compulsory recount. They plan to make that regulation retroactive in order to force Stein to pay the entire $12 million estimated cost of a statewide recount, so that Michigan taxpayers don’t have to pay for Stein’s fantasies."

Is the strategy being exposed that they desire to appeal the matter to the SCOTUS?

I guess that would start at the Mich. State Supreme Court. Anyway, all of this for an asterisk?

Retroactive is hard to pull off in this case....but I would suppose it would make her think twice about continuing.

With scotus being split, I suspect they are trying to get a lower court decision favorable to them appealed to scotus, which would ( in their plan) uphold that lower court decision

They are trying to use the judiciary to overturn somehow

Just like they did in 2000

This battle is a bit tougher, since there are three states instead of just one

Steins a Hillary whore(one among many) and I’m glad our Michigan AG is calling a spade a spade, so to speak here. Hillary and Stein need to be relegated to the garbage bin of losers now and forever?

Any indication on a timeline for the hearing of this lawsuit?

Stein is hoping that the courts turn down the recount effort. That way she gets to keep all the cash while blaming the courts or the republican AG. I’m sure she was pissed that Wisconsin decided to follow through with the recount because she had to part with the 3.5 million cost. Probably her scam all along!

“and risk missing the Electoral College”

That may be the actual goal. Gum up the works in enough states so they can’t submit EC votes in time.

Let’s not go there, Jill & Hill.

The way I see it, Hillary might have had a chance to request a recount in Michigan, she could conceivably be an aggrieved party, but she didn’t want to risk it. The way the law is written. Jill Stein doesn’t have a legal case. The cost to the state is a proper point, and should be considered.

Expect the mantra to begin "Every vote must be counted".

Disregard the fact that they have already been counted **twice** in Michigan.

Stein is hoping so but Hillary is not. She is the one behind this.

PA, MI and WI going red aren’t just some sort of singular event.

This BS being pulled now only solidifies these states being red states going forward.

Funny that Hillary called Trump voters Degenerates....because in the end, the blue states only stand for Degeneracy...

Blue States are becoming black holes of degenerates, sucking the dependants, drug addicts, mentally ill, welfare crowd ever closer. Good news is, the Red States become better and better places to live!

Trump’s objection to the Michigan recount: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/sos/Objection_to_Recount_Petition_544089_7.pdf

“there is no reason to rewrite Michigan election law to accommodate the conspiracy-minded requests of an acknowledged loser.”

Good for AG Bill Schuette!!!! He’s doing his job!!!

Stein is a Soros whore more than a Hillary whore. After President Trump takes office, AG Sessions needs to look into ways of putting Soros out of business!!!!
