Montco judge rejects presidential-vote recount request (in PA)

A Montgomery County Court judge rejected a petition Wednesday to recanvass votes in some of the county's precincts, turning down a request by Green Party candidate Jill Stein's campaign, which is seeking a recount of votes in Pennsylvania.

Judge Bernard A. Moore dismissed the petitions for recounts in 72 of the county's 425 precincts at the end of a brief hearing Wednesday afternoon, offering no reason for his ruling.

The petitions were part of a larger effort by Stein's campaign to seek a statewide recount. Stein's campaign filed a petition in Commonwealth Court that is scheduled for consideration at a hearing Monday. Meanwhile, voters have filed petitions seeking recounts in counties around the state.

In Philadelphia, the Board of Elections announced it will meet Thursday morning to review petitions for recounts in 82 of its 1,686 divisions and determine which divisions would be re-examined.

.....

Lawrence Tabas, an attorney for Trump's campaign and general counsel for the state Republican Party, said that petitioners should not be permitted to cherry-pick precincts for recounts.

"It would insult the term 'a hail mary' to even say that's what it is," Tabas said of the recount efforts after the hearing.

Moore, a Republican senior judge, ruled from the bench and offered no insight into his reasoning. While Maazel criticized Republican party lawyers for opposing the recount petition, Montgomery County's administration is controlled by Democrats and their solicitor also opposed it.

So now this nonsense is getting settled on a country by country basis? Sounds like a huge mess to me.

I have real bad schadenfreude. I love to watch wretched creachers die, like snakes . I am totally giddy with watching these communist snakes die.

My county. Nice to hear there are still good judges left. This county was a republican stronghold 20 years ago. Sadly the left has moved in from Philly and New York and taken over.

I also understood that the secretary of state said stein missed the recount filing deadline. However, that may be statuatory and this current process may be part of a legal end run attempt.

Are the rejected counties ones where Hillary won? Everyone says ‘nothing to see here. Nothing will change. SURE. What happens if the recount gets tied up in court hearings and law suits and and doesnt get finished? What happens to the electoral votes. Will they be thrown out? These cheaters know exactly what they are doing. Why are these ppl allowed to harrass us?

Ed Klein said (maybe WND...I’m not on my regular machine)this is being done 1) to cheer up poor Hilary who is moping, ranting and drinking too much wine. zer0 went along, despite saying publicly he is against it, in order to perk up the poor Dems, who are so depressed and show them their party is fighting back.

Some Dem activist has requested scads of voter info from WI. The Election Board said to just acknowledge receipt of request and they will tell clerks how to respond going forward.

They truly never freaking quit.

The state legislatures can decide which electors to send to the EC. The US House of Representatives may have to decide which to accept if there is a conflict and both sides send their electors. This is existing law.

The judge that made the call (without comment) is a republican. The PA legislature is dominated by republicans in both houses. The US house is dominated by republicans. I don't think anything is going to happen that benefits the hildabeast with this deck of cards.
