In my family we do Christmas gift lists to make it easier all around. I got my liberal brother-in-law’s list yesterday, and it consisted almost entirely of victimology books—you know, of the “I’m Chicano/Hispanic/Latino, read all about my struggle against the system and white people and oppression in general” variety. Absolutely sickening. Fortunately he had a few little nonpolitical things on the list, or I’d have been forced to give him a t-shirt that reads, “I’m Latino—It’s My Excuse For Everything.”
