Syrian government forces have been making rapid advances into eastern Aleppo, forcing thousands of civilians to flee.

The Syrian army captured Jabal Badro on Sunday, a day after seizing Hanano district, and is making in-roads in other neighbourhoods.

Its aim is to divide the rebel-held east of the city in two.

Some reports said several thousand civilians were trying to escape, to government and other rebel-held areas.

Yep, the idiots McCain & Grahamnesty must be fuming. Here’s hoping the Turks aren’t stupid enough to try any intervention on behalf of the McCain-Islamist “rebels”.

“”Syrian government forces have been making rapid advances into eastern Aleppo, forcing thousands of civilians to flee.

The civilians are fleeing the government forces but trying to escape to government and other rebel-held areas??? I don’t get it. It’s another case of who are the good guys and who are the bad guys!

“government and rebel-held areas”???? Aren’t they two different entities at war with one another? Both getting rid of ISIS?

This is a proven military tactic, also employed by the Russians.

When you have a superior military force and want to minimize casualties, cut the weaker force in half.

It changes every thought and every plan they ever had.

I’ve never understood our position on Syria. Or on the whole Arab Spring. We never liked Assad before and likened him to Hussein or Khadafi back when Bush was president. It raises the whole question of whether it’s better to have a brutal dictator who keeps things in control or allow the people to rebel but it lets things get unstable. Is Iraq Egypt or Libya better now? Yes Putin has legitimate terror interests in Syria but be honest it’s also Russian interests like air bases that are his window to the middle east and mediterranean and weapons oil deals etc.. I don’t know the whole thing is complicated.

Turks do not want to fight Russia—they could take Syria but not Russia/Syria together. It could lead to WW III. Hagia Sophia might be Christian again! and Istanbul become Constantinople again. Byzantium may well become a new state in Europe.

>>”I don’t know the whole thing is complicated.”

Nothing is complicated; it is only made to be complicated.

And, ISIS is not organic to the M.E., North Africa, etc.. it has been constructed and unleashed by others. That’s partly why ISIS suddenly came out of nowhere. Otherwise, it would have been removed from the scene soon after it appeared, if not before it spread its tentacles in certain part of the world.
