Iraqs parliament on Saturday voted to accord full legal status to government-sanctioned Shiite militias as a backup and reserve force for the military and police and empower them to deter security and terror threats facing the country, like the Islamic State group. [ ]
The Shiite militias, most of which are backed by neighboring Shiite Iran, have been bankrolled and equipped by the government since shortly after IS swept across much of northern and western Iraq in 2014. Many of these groups existed long before IS emerged, fighting American troops in major street battles during the U.S. military presence in Iraq between 2003 and 2011.

Where is the proof these militias are backed by Iran?
Everything Shi’ite in Iraq is backed by Iran. It was that way when Bush was still president, and the Shi’a-dominated Iraqi government just legitimized them.
Remember when Hillary was all about support of the pro-Iranian Shi’ites during the 2000s?
Inevitable.
The US trained units faltered and failed during ISIS initial offensive. Only some special forces are of value.
The Shia militia especially the Badr Corps, with Iranian advisers are the nucleus of a new Iraqi Army. They (along with the Kurdish Peshmerga) are the backbone in driving back ISIS.
The Sunnis may dread the conquest by Shia units, but large parts of the Sunni Arab population were welcoming ISIS initially... they get the bill now.
I doubt the US-trained units had the heart (certainly not the will) to fight against potential allies against the Great Satan invaders.
It’s best to force the MSM to produce their proof at all times. They have the tendency to lie, a lot.
Absolutely agree. Their mixing of lies with truth makes them appear as the boy who cried wolf when they actually may be reporting the truth.
