The CEO of Reddit has admitted that he edited comments in a pro-Trump discussion board, saying he "messed with" some of the comments "for about an hour," and has apologized.
On Wednesday, one Reddit user provided what purported to be evidence of Huffman editing some of the insults directed at him, by replacing his name with the names of r/The_Donald moderators.
Some of the main board mods got ticked about the censorship.
Basically this makes Reddit responsible for all content and comments as any could have been edited by spez. Oh, and @#$& you spez.
Leftists hate free speech.
I still can’t figure out what Reddit is or why I should be a part of it... Or why it’s so important. If anyone want’s to help me I’d be happy to learn.
Because The_Donald is THE BEST Dom (sub) on Reddit :)
it’s a fast-paced discussion board about innumerable topics. in a way it reminds me of usenet (olden days). in a way it’s also like FR in that participants are engaged and really dig into topics they like. so they make discoveries. but since the left leaning reddit tries to squash the Donald sub-reddit it gets a bit crazy. unlike FR you can raise or lower posts/conversations (up or down vote I think) so of course that can lead to some mayhem. Reddit is well known enough that important and/or celebrity people will do an “AMA” (ask me anything) on reddit for fans.
Liberal elites are getting weird now that they know most people in the country hate them.
Thank you. I can see why WORLDNEWS might be interesting.
From my long ago days as an Email Administrator, to edit someone’s posts as an Admin is so unethical. We would have been fired for doing that same thing, back in the day. This jerk should definitely resign or be fired IMHO!
If you get the chance to see it, watch "The Enemies Within". I watched it on Amazon.
The bottom line of the theory espoused in the linked piece is that, because the CEO of Reddit took it upon himself to edit posts (rather than merely deleting them), he may have transitioned from being a interactive computer service (who is protected from liability by Section 230 of the Telecommunications Act (47 U.S.C. &Sect230(c)(1)) to being a content provider, who is liable for what he publishes.
thanks for posting this. just convinced me to go delete my account over there.
Great post.
Let the litigation begin!
IMHO. It's a web site where the emotionally adolescent of all ages go to have their self worth validated by other emotional adolescents all while being quietly subjected to left wing socio-psychological experimentation by slimy sociology professors and their minions who snicker at how easily these people are duped.
Some enterprising lawyer now needs to seek out the defamed and libeled since the editing exposes the owner and the site to tort liability for the comments.
