On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” TheRoot.com Politics Editor Dr. Jason Johnson argued that President-Elect Donald Trump might pick former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as Secretary of State to get him out of Washington in the same way President Obama “took Hillary Clinton, who has been one of his biggest critics, made her Secretary of State and told her to get out of the country.”
Johnson said, “There’s an element to this that you sometimes see when someone is like the President of the United States. They may choose some of their most vocal critics, who are still within their party, and give them prominent positions that will take them out of Washington. What did President-Elect Barack Obama do? He took Hillary Clinton, who has been one of his biggest critics, made her Secretary of State and told her to get out of the country. So, that may be one of the ideas behind the Trump administration.”
He added that Kellyanne Conway’s statements about Trump’s base being angry with Romney “disorganized,” “unprofessional,” and set a bad precedent for how the administration will work.

Romney is The Snake that Trump warned us about at a lot of his rallies. If Trump includes him in his administration, Romney The Snake will bite him. I can see Romney calling a press conference and denouncing Trump and resigning as Sec of State, causing a huge uproar and “scandal” of some sort that would distract the Trump administration from such things like draining the swamp, creating jobs, etc.
If Trump is serious about draining the swamp, don’t like The Snake Romney slither into that swamp.

Romney will run against Trump in the primary in 2020.
I don’t know a lot about Rand. I know some people don’t like him but I would have voted for him over numerous others that were in the primaries.
I DONT think Trump should keep pulling a bunch of people from senate or house, or he may lose the leads he has in them.

Agreed. Trump is giving Romney a head start. Mitt can travel the world, look experienced and build up his base. All because Trump continues to make him relevant.
