Petraeus by not being in jail is a living example of the lack of equal justice under law in this country.
Can you imagine if a rank-and-file soldier did what he did?
Agreed.
Trump would look like the biggest hypocrite in the world if he picked Petreus. Spent a year beating up a former SOS for mishandling classified emails, then chooses for his SOS a person convicted of mishandling classified intel??
I hope this is just a rumor.
Mitt isn’t good but he would be the better political choice by far. And if Trump feels like he can trust him, maybe Mitt could be a solid SOS.
I’m afraid I don’t know enough about the man to make any intelligent judgments. Perhaps a hello freeper could enlighten me? I’m not terribly familiar with Petraeus
Petraeus implemented a lot of bad policy but then it was not his job to do otherwise. I am ambivalent about him. I am violently opposed to romney.
There are more than a few examples of just that.To hell with the elite.
Exactly. You have to feel for all of the rank and file servicemen who've done time in military prison for far more minor offenses.
Petraeus should find a job working for Hillary's foundation, they deserve one another.
I remember in the 80s there was a big scandal of Marines giving classified information to bimbos (don’t remember the country, seems like East Germany?). Time magazine put on their cover a graphic of a Marine standing at attention with a black eye. Patraeus does the same thing and gets a light slap on the wrist. There’s no way this guy should be allowed anywhere near a govt. leadership position. He should have his security clearance revoked so that he could never enter the building even if he was appointed. Any of us would be doing a decade in the clinker.
