This Saudi prince now owns more of Twitter than Jack Dorsey does

Article cannot be posted to FR. Link to the article is here.

Summary: Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud owns 34.9 million shares of Twitter stock. Jack Dorsey, Twitter's co-founder and CEO, only owns 21.86 million shares.

Links to the official filings substantiating these numbers are within the article linked above.

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: alwaleedbintalal; censorship; internet; jackdorsey; saudiarabia; twitter
That explains the tolerance for Jihadi posts and the censorship of anti-Sharia conservatives on that site. Also please note Prince Alwaleed's interests, at the article, in Newscorp.

No wonder pedophile pic traders are allowed on twitter, but those exposing them conservatives get censored or banned.

They KILLED 3000 of my fellow NYers in buildings that I worked in and loved.

I want my vengeance.

I want them bankrupt and run into the ground. I want Iranian missiles filling their skies.

I hate Iran but it would still make me happy.

They hated Trump.

Removed several threads during the campaign in the last few days. Still hide things they don’t like politically. Twitter sucks.

But they allowed thousands of child porn threads to go on and banned the person informing the FBI about it.

Trust & Safety just means that evildoers can trust Twitter to keep them safe from discovery or punishment.

Reddit did the same thing.

True to form, they used the witch hunt rule - something that only has been used to protect leftists, never to ban them.

On top of that, their CEO (Steve "spez" Huffman) took to rewriting comments by Trump supporters not long after that ban. His reasoning was that he thought that the investigators and critics were nothing more than "trolls"

Not doing well.

The real question- is it too unprofitable for a conservative interest to buy a majority stake and turn it around?

If a conservative were to take control, the readership would scatter like a ruptured bag of BBs hitting a concrete floor.

Where is the brand value for the core product?

The Saudi ownership element has the power to strangle the product by exerting control on the staff. Of course, there are probably a large number of willing dupes on the staff, so providing a guiding hand on the tiller at Twitter should be doable.
