We used to have Woolworth’s, in the DC area.

There don’t seem to be anymore stores like Woolworth’s was, in the US.

Sure....kmart, walmart, target.....same type of GENERAL store. Everything under the sun. The difference is....there is more variety in the products and NEW products, the electronics for one thing and that makes for bigger stores.

We had one in the city and we went there after school (high school-1960) to get a slice of pizza for 10 cents.

Growing up , one of my older sisters was a waitress at Woolworths at Tysons Corner when she was in high school. Hairnets and all. We never got to eat out so going there and sitting at one of her booths and having dinner out there is memorable. Didn’t know they were still around but sad to hear..:
