Weren’t very many bars in NE, wouldn’t happen to have been in the Catholic University neighborhood by any chance?
Damn, all those Germans didn’t even have to migrate to Muslimland to become Muslims and followers of Mad Mo .... Mad Mo does home deliveries!!!
I may be confusing things; my Dad grew up in the Petworth area; attended the little church where they have the St. Gaudens statue in the Rock Creek cemetery; and as a boy, he delivered newspapers to the Old Soldier’s Home - the old guys used to leave apples for him, in his wagon.
I grew up on the other side of North Capitol, NE. North Capitol divides NE and NW.
Not sure where the bar was, but I liked that cherry :-)
Woolworths is not the old American five & dime.
Remembering all the times my mom took me to Woolworth or Kress for lunch, burgers and a malt. Those old stores had a great feel to them.
The Woolworth in nearby Greensboro has been preserved as a civil rights museum for the famed sit-in of 1960.
You post one more link like to any of that crap, and we’ll ban you.
