Let NO ONE have any doubt -— this change is owed SOLELY to Donald Trump’s victory and imminent arrival as our new president.

Since DJT was going to do it... If an incident had happened before 1/20, it would look really bad.

Now, if the government will get off their rear end and allow civilian employees working on government facilities to carry weapons in their vehicles. We already have a much more in depth background check for employment than the local sheriff for a conceal carry permit.

This article is strongly oriented to military personnel. What about DOD civilians? Can any Freeper out there enlighten?

Concealed carry....?
Why not just standard issue an M9 or other sidearm for all persons to carry while on base?

U.S. military personnel can now request to carry concealed handguns for protection at government facilities, according to new Defense Department directive issued last week in response to a series of deadly shootings over the last seven years.
Hmm. Didn't hear anything about this. I'm in a Guard unit (we're allowed to carry at NG facilities), but we drill at a Federal Reserve Center. So we're technically not allowed to carry firearms there. Just had drill this weekend, and they didn't mention anything about these changes..?

This is a false flag. They will not be allowed to carry UNLESS their commander approves it and only for maximum of 90 days. They must have a CCW permit for the county the base is in. Try getting one in a blue state. Who in their right mind is going to go through all of the crap every 90 days on the off chance that their commander will agree to them carrying concealed.
Neither I nor any other person should lose their right to carry a concealed weapon because they step foot on a military installation. The “leaders” claim that drunken shootings will multiply if people are allowed to carry. Sound familiar anyone?

At this rate, Obama himself will repeal Obamacare.
