Was at a store with my 6 year old, and I tried to explain to him I will buy the lego on sale, but he doesn’t get it right away, but must do chores to earn it. His head went down and he tucked himself into a corner and pouted. (He wanted to have it NOW).

That girl reminds me of that.

A number of these precious snowflakes are convinced the universe revolves around them. I had a young lady in one of my classes like that. She was in tears over her grade on the first paper of the class. After some discussion with me about the merits (or lack thereof) of her paper, she put forth, “I think you just don’t like me.” You should have seen the look on her face when I pointed out that I had over 100 students that I saw for 3 hours a week, that we were barely 3 weeks into the semester, and that I honestly had no clue who she was, other than knowing she was in my class. I will give her credit for handling the dose of reality pretty well.
