Protesting in Palm Beach is an act of civil obediance

The following is a smattering of actual Town of Palm Beach ordinances for you to keep in mind:

First of all, be advised that any sort of march in Palm Beach is defined in Section 106-191 as “a parade.”

You’ll also need a permit for your Trump parade. The application for this permit must be submitted to the town’s police department no more than 30 days prior to your parade, but no later than one week before the event. We realize that this may be a problem in the event of a sudden urge to hold a parade due to, say, a deportation order, dissident arrest, or Rudy Giuliani nomination. But those are the rules.

In other planning notes, the ordinance requires that you designate somebody as your “parade chair.”

We realize this may be a stretch for some of the anarchists, but do the best you can. And plan on paying $300 for a permit fee. And not in bit coin.

There is also a time restriction on Trump parades. Section 106-218 specifies that parades may only be held “between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and sunset, and only upon Sundays, or national holidays recognized by the federal government.”

“The use of banners, flags (other than flags of official governmental bodies), streamers, balloons or any similar devices, in connection with the event, shall be prohibited,” the town code specifies. And you’ll have to submit your permit at least 30 days in advance.

Oh, and you’ll need $1 million in liability insurance.

No idea what the Florida Constitution says about marches or parades but here is something they might want to read...:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You (and everyone else apparently)seem to ignore the last part of the Amendment. Free speech is NOT blocking roads and getting in the faces of people one disagrees with. Not so long ago this was considered Disturbing the Peace. You have a right to speak, but not a right to be heard. The way to object to the government that must be listened to and considered is by petition.

The notion that the government cannot set aside public space for specific purposes is absurd. All you have to do to find out that what I am saying is accurate is to make yourself an Obama Sucks sign and scale the White House fence to shout your message at him.

Oh stop. Then read this. Re-read it if you have a problem.

PEACEABLY !!!

Blocking streets is not peaceable. Shouting obscenities is not peaceable. I suppose you would allow the KKK to protest BLM at an NBA game.
