The thing is if there are this many people willing to make serious claims that are able to be checked out, think of how many people who make less serious claims that can’t really be checked out, such as “my boyfriend’s sister’s roommate said a guy in a Trump hat called me a racial slur”. It’s got to be up in the hundreds of thousands if not millions.
Ergo we get the media meme of a tsunami of “hate crime”.
