As the CG of CENTCOM, he dealt almost exclusively with Muslim Arab countries. Israel falls into EUCOM’s AOR. He had a job to do, and I’m sure America’s support of Israel (as tepid as that’s been over the years, certainly in 2010) caused numerous headaches for him.
The only question is what is best for the security interests of the United States. The last I saw, Israel was not one of the 50 states. Deal with it.

Isn’t it fairly obvious that we should treat well those who treat us well? With that said, the nation of Israel should get $0 in foreign aid, as should any other nation. If they are attacked, we help our friends. If we are attacked, our friends damn well better help us. You cannot purchase friendship and most of our current “friends” hate us but love our money. I would like to think Israel is a friend, we need to find out.
