This weeks Saturday Night Live, hosted by Kristen Wiig, saw a very pointed sketch that poked fun at the presumed bubble over millennial neighborhoods. The skit zeroed in on Brooklyn, and painted a picture of a new living establishment completely shuts out the rest of the world.
While its healthy to have a safe space away from others every once in a while, this particular skit highlighted the dangers of retreating into a bubble of like-minded people at all times. Its something that should hit pretty close to home regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum.
Though of course the joke here is pointed more at liberals (and Bernie Bros, judging by the dollar bill adorned with Bernie Sanders face) living in Trumps America. Check out the full sketch up above.
Yep, and Spike Lee is pissed off that Brooklyn ghetto neighborhoods are being gentrified.
Funny to think, as he became rich and famous, he himself abandoned Brooklyn years ago.
But it pisses him off that formerly ghetto areas are being rehabilitated and have become nicer areas in which to live again.
Parts of NJ are filling up with aging Brooklyn hipsters who can’t stand the paycheck drain much longer.
This is funnier than Alec Baldwin’s opening, which was the only part I saw.
Their anti Trunp stuff isn’t funny. They lost their sense of humor.
But this bit is amusing.

>> “They lost their sense of humor.” <<
Every leftie tyrant in the world lost his sense of humor on November 8.
.
I did not know there was any humor left at SNL.
Yea because it’s being filled by boring liberal white trust fund children. Would you like that in your neighborhood???
First Brexit and Clexit, then Frexit and Gexit.
I was born there and there as a mix of everything.
Actually, this is a great way for blacks to make money flipping houses.
Okay, that was actually cute.
It shows that they actually get it and recognize how out of the mainstream they are. Making fun of themselves is good, for a change.
The remaining black home owners in Bey-Stuy are now offered 2 or 3 million for their duplex brownstones.
Didn't whatshisname, the creator, get a Presidential Medal of Freedom this past week? Tit-for-tat?
I was never a fan of the show from its very beginning. I think I was a HS senior. Too much crap for the occasional hit, imo.
YMMV.
Most of them are just renters. Section 8.
Lorne Michaels was the creator and still produces.
That's too bad. I have no problem with the middle class making money off progressives, and real estate is the best way to do it. Progressives always gentrify their neighborhoods, that is how they can have near exclusively white neighborhoods without implementing Jim Crow era legislation. High real estate, and high minimum wages do the trick.
Pretty funny.
Sketch?
Hell this is just like my neighborhood! LoL!
Post election has been fun around here. Lots of long faces. Nice to see a bit of the smug wiped off their faces.
